About this Event

Welcome to Venture Café Providence Thursday Gathering

Join us for the next installment of our quarterly series, Small Business Support with Newport Interactive Marketing. This week we’ll be looking at sales during our Thursday Gathering workshop from 10:30-11:15 and hosting two fantastic flashtalks in partnership with Newport Interactive Marketing on SEO and email marketing.

10:30-11:15 | Getting More Comfortable with Selling

You are probably closer to getting comfortable with selling than you think! In this workshop, Marc Kitz, a sales expert with 37 years of experience selling technology services, will help you become more comfortable and confident with selling by leveraging your everyday activities including preparing for meetings and asking questions. This workshop is for everyone nervous about selling and especially new entrepreneurs who know their product or service but could use some support in selling their brand.

Marc Kitz, Sales Coach

11:15 – 11:30 AM | Startup Story: Pop Up Rhody

Join us for a Startup Story featuring Jo Lee of Pop Up Rhody. Startup stories showcase local innovators, startups and small businesses with their own session dedicated to sharing what they’ve learned with the Venture Café Community.

PopUp Rhody is an online marketplace for RI establishments to post extra space for popups. It’s just like Airbnb but rather than posting rooms for rent, businesses post space for popups, meetings, and more.

11:30 – 12:00 PM | Cultivating Innovation: Informal Conversations with RI’s Economic Gardener

Join us for an informal conversation, led by Tuni Schartner, Executive Director of District Hall & Venture Café Providence and RI’s Economic Gardener. Every week Tuni leads a virtual conversation with thought leaders from around Rhode Island, touching on a number of topics important for innovators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses in Rhode Island.

12:00 – 12:45 PM | THE 2 Steps to Keeping Your Marketing Growing | #NIMLive Flashtalks

There’s a lot you could try to survive the pandemic, but here’s the 2 keys to keeping customers and prospects engaged. In fact, if you’re NOT doing these two, people will assume your brand is another Covid casualty.

#NIMLive has the experts: so bring your questions! RSVP now for Live or OnDemand Access!

Flash Talk! Simple Steps to Double Your Google Liability

With the pause on in-person retail browsing, let’s face it: Google Maps has become a habit — even YOUR new HOMEPAGE. Let’s refresh how to optimize your business listing/map entry even more affective, guided by the guru to thousands of successful local businesses: Mark Collins.

Updating his #DeepDive #NIMLive talk from a year ago, Mark will share steps to boost your chances of getting found via traditional Google.com search, aka “search listings,” too.

Flash Talk! Why Email Still Rules & How to get Yours Opened

The other pandemic survival strategy for small brands you MUST-do and do well is email marketing. While open rates may have dropped, sales via inboxes are up. Learn how you can grow by being relevant and effective.

Longtime trainer and tech specialist Ronda Sciolto from Help Me Ronda.Tech sets her sights on your 2021 email marketing success.
